This year turbine wind power systems will produce about 1 percent of the United States power supply says AWEA. This is enough to supply 4.5 million homes.

Wind turbine energy will in future provide a much larger portion of the United States electricity requirements. It is estimated that wind generation will in future supply 20 percent of the United states electricity requirements.

Wind electricity is making great strides ahead all over the world. In Denmark 20 percent of power needs are generated by wind generators. In the United States the state of Texas is in the lead,producing 20 percent of the state's power needs from wind turbines. The Cape Wind Energy Project intends to build a wind farm of 120 turbines off the Nantucket coast which could provide 80 percent of the Cape and Islands power requirements.

Theoretically wind energy could produce five times more electricity than is currently used in the United States. Some of the best locations for wind power installations are on farmland,particularly in the plains states. The wind resource however varies considerably in different locations. A number of states have been producing wind resource maps and collecting data which could be used by farmers to determine the potential for wind power generation on their land. The market for wind power electricity depends strictly on the cost of course. The cost of wind generated power has fallen by around 90 percent since 1980 and by 2010 it is expected that wind energy will be cheaper than fossil fuel produced power.

Why You Should Not Record Calls With Abusive Debt Collectors

INTRODUCTION

We are often asked if abusive debt collectors should be recorded. The short answer is "No". The longer answer is "not usually".

There is a lot of information on the internet about recording calls. We wrote this article to help give you our perspective so you can have more information to make the right choice on whether or not to record calls when dealing with an abusive debt collector.

REASON ONE - AVOID PROSECUTION IN A FOREIGN STATE FOR ILLEGAL RECORDING OF CALLS

Basically there are two types of states - "One Party" states and "Two Party" states.

One party states say that as long as one party to the call consents to the recording, then it is legal to record.

Two party states require that both parties to the call must consent to the recording.

We are often asked about Alabama consumers (or other one party state residents) recording conversations in a one party state. Alabama is a one party state but you can still be prosecuted. Confused?

We used to tell one party state residents that as long as they were on the call (that is don't ever record a call you are not a party to) then they were fine. Here's why our advice is to not record calls even if you are in a one party state.

In a two party state, both parties have to agree to the recording. This is why you often hear "This call may be recorded" when you call certain companies.

Some of these two party states take the position that even though it may be legal for you in Alabama (or other one party states) to record the call, it violates the law of their state and so they will prosecute you in their state. Also keep in mind that often times we cannot tell where a debt collector is calling from or where our call is going to as the larger collection agencies may route calls through different offices and you can't tell this through caller id. The letter from the collection agency may say "Atlanta" but when you call, the collector may pick up the phone in Florida, a two party state.

So here is how this can work against you. An abusive debt collector keeps calling. You secretly record the phone call. You capture this abusive call on tape and now you are ready to sue this disgusting collection agency. You file suit and your lawyer sends over the recording. Instead of the collection agency offering you money, your lawyer gets a nasty letter informing him that you have violated the laws of the state of, say, Florida and the district attorney where the collector is located (and employs lots of people) is looking at opening a criminal prosecution against you in Florida. The unstated but clear message is if you drop the civil case you will not be prosecuted. (This is almost universally forbidden to blackmail someone like this but we are talking about realities here, not a fantasy world).

So, what do you do? Move forward and hire a lawyer in Florida (or California or wherever) to defend you? Or do you drop the suit and hope you won't be prosecuted?

This relatively new approach by two party states is the primary reason we tell consumers not to record phone calls. If you don't record phone calls, you don't have to worry about being prosecuted somewhere else.

[Please note - this does not apply to voicemail messages. The debt collector knew he or she was leaving a recorded message - that's the whole point of a voice mail! So there is no issue with consent as the collector consented by leaving the message.]

But, if you can't record then how can you prove your case? This leads us to the second reason not to record....

REASON TWO - IT IS NOT NECESSARY AS LONG AS YOU CAREFULLY DOCUMENT THE CALLS

Many consumers believe that if they do not have the abusive debt collector on tape, then there is no case. Some debt collectors and their defense lawyers act the same way - as if there is no proof if there is no recording. This is simply not true.

You are qualified to testify to what the debt collector said to you. The best practice is to make notes as you are on the phone. You can do this on your computer or on a notebook or on a collection log. The basic idea is to track who called, when, from what company, from what number, and what did the caller tell you?

Immediately after hanging up the phone, review your notes and see what changes are needed to make them as accurate as possible. Did you abbreviate some words? Make a note what the words mean. If there is anything unclear, make it clear right after you hang up the phone. Note the time and date of the call and who called you.

Here is why some consumers believe recordings are essential - because the debt collector will not put in its notes that it used profanity or threatened you with jail time for not paying a bill. Our response? Big deal.

Of course the debt collector will not record entries into the collection notes that will open the debt collector up to a lawsuit or expose the individual collector to being terminated. We can show that collector notes are almost always unreliable.

So it comes down to your testimony versus the debt collector's testimony. The collector will say he has no memory of threatening you or cursing at you. He will say he remembers the call very well. Of course the next question we ask is "Tell us about the call right before the one with my client." No memory. Or the one five people after our client. These collectors have dozens of calls in a day and yet they claim they can remember what they told you six months ago? Not likely.

The reason you can remember is you have had just a few collection calls and because you carefully and faithfully note all the calls you get in your computer, notebook, or other collection log.

If you are a credible and believable person, then who needs a recording? In our judgment a recording is just not that important for most cases.

BUT IF YOU DO RECORD, HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS

If despite our advice you are determined to go ahead and record, then here are some suggestions.

First, make sure that your recording device is working properly. If you are going to take a chance recording, make sure you get something out of it. Test out your recording device with a friend who is agreeable to you doing this.

Second, tell the debt collector at the beginning of the conversation that you are going to record the call. Tell the collector if he or she keeps talking you are going to assume they agree to be recorded. If they won't agree, then end the call.

Third, do not act any different on the recording. Once you have permission from the debt collector, then proceed with the conversation as if nothing is different. This also means do not try to trick or trap the debt collector. We'll discuss this in another article but the main purpose of talking to a debt collector is to gain information.

Fourth, as soon as the call is over mention on the recording the time and date of the call if you did not do so at the beginning of the call.

Fifth, transfer the recorded call to digital media as soon as possible. Get it on your computer or somewhere safe. You don't want to go through all the effort to get a recording and then the recording is lost or misplaced.

CONCLUSION

We hope that this information will help you make the right decision in dealing with abusive debt collectors. Whatever decision you make on calls with abusive debt collectors, remember you have rights and the better you document the abuses of debt collectors, the greater likelihood that you can stop them from ever abusing you again. With all this his condition had not improved, and he had not functioned at work or socially.

The first thing I did with him was to check using Energy Muscle Testing (EMT) when he said the statement, I deserve to get over the trauma. The muscle was strong, indicating, against my guess, that he did not have survival guilt, like many other soldiers Ive treated. Yet the muscle was weak when he said, Others deserve for me to get over the trauma.

The first culprit was obviously his commander. Indeed the muscle was very weak when Jonathan stated, My commander deserves for me to get over the trauma.

As we talked, it became apparent to me why Jonathan was angry at his lieutenant. The order that was given did not make any sense to me. It did not make sense to Jonathan, nor did it make sense to his friends in the special unit. The order unnecessarily put the soldiers lives at risk. It was not only my judgment that it was a bad order, according to Jonathan, the captain was also angry at the lieutenant for giving this order and chewed him out loudly and passionately about it. Yet, in the long run, the lieutenant was promoted and is now a colonel.

On a conscious level, Jonathan was not angry at the lieutenant. He said, It was as in war. He rationalized even the fact that he was promoted and achieved a higher rank so quickly. He said, The lieutenant was macho, tough and without sentiments; the material good commanders are made of.

When I heard about the order, I became very upset and angry. Surely it put a few soldiers at risk, when it was possible to proceed in a more cautious way. Soon, I noticed that Jonathan was not in touch with any of his emotions. He could not get in touch with the fear he felt at that time and with the anguish he felt about one of his fellow soldiers, David, who was killed in that mission.

Jonathan was totally detached from his feelings. He said he actually remembers a certain moment during combat that he felt so emotionally overwhelmed with fear that he felt he was disconnected, like he was looking at himself from the outside. Since that time, he could not feel anything. He refused to talk about what happened.

This emotional numbness and disconnect is a classic presentation of Dissociation. Jonathan told me he thinks his flashbacks and nightmares were the way his mind was trying to force him to face the trauma and deal with it and, therefore, was therapeutic. Yet, it was very disturbing!

Based on his story, I checked with EMT and found a weak muscle also when checking if David deserved for Jonathan to get over the trauma, indicating another type of subconscious sabotage. I explained to Jonathan there was no way he could possibly get over the trauma when he subconsciously felt that these two did not deserve for him to be healed.

We then proceeded to use SCT to remove the sabotage. Because of the severity of the symptoms, I immediately decided to use the Personalized Forgiveness Affirmation. It took quite a long time to remove the subconscious sabotage towards the lieutenant.

Then we proceeded to deal with his anger at David for dying. Jonathan did not feel any anger on a conscious level. How could one be angry at someone for dying? he asked. I explained that this is exactly the problem. It is irrational to be angry at someone for dying. It was obviously not Davids choice. He was the victim. Yet, on a subconscious level, there was anger, as was evidenced by EMT.

We were able to successfully remove this sabotage. Now when Jonathan said, David deserves for me to get over the trauma, the muscle that was weak before SCT was rock solid.

We then checked for others deserve for me to get over the trauma. The muscle was strong, indicating there were no others. I then proceeded to check muscle strength with the statement, God deserves for me to get over the trauma. Not surprisingly, the muscle was weak. When asked about it, Jonathan said that he did not feel anger but wondered what kind of God allowed so much suffering. After doing the Forgiveness Affirmation for God, the muscle became strong.

There were no more weak muscles. A strong muscle with the statement, There is100% subconscious support to finding the best method to getting over the trauma, indicated that now we can get answers about the preferred method of treatment.

We proceeded with, The best way is EMDR, weak muscle (no).
The best way is EFT, strong muscle (yes).
Then I asked Jonathan to guess, if he would talk about the trauma, where would he rate his anxiety to be, on a scale of 0 to 10. He guessed 10.
With a few rounds of the full protocol of EFT, we were able to decrease it down to two.

Next I asked Jonathan to tell me the details of the trauma. He started to talk. He still felt emotionally numb, but felt tightness in his chest, rated 9/10. We tapped on it and got it down to 0/10. Yet he had sharp pain over the left side of his head, rated 8/10. We tapped it down to 1/10.

When Jonathan continued telling more details about the trauma he felt anxiety, rated 7/10, and we were able to tap it down. He continued talking and a few times along the story, the anxiety went up. We were able to successfully reduce it down substantially to 1/10. This was good enough, as Jonathan felt he would not recognize himself if he would be completely symptom free. He also expressed his concern that should he be symptom free, treatment would be stopped, and he was not ready for it. He also wanted to be sure the military pension he received would continue until at least such a time that he would be able to be gainfully employed.

In a follow-up of six months, Jonathan only had some minor persisting symptoms. He attended computer school and was looking forward to gradually get off medications.

Tiny Inventions Impact Our Lives in Big Ways

Among the latest scientific inventions of great importance to us in our daily lives are devices known as MEMS. Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) are the technology of the very small. In Japan MEMS are also called micromachines. Smaller still, are the nano-scale nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS) and nanotechnology.

MEMS are made up of components between 1 to 100 micrometers in size (i.e. 0.001 to 0.1 mm) and MEMS devices generally range in size from 20 micrometers (20 millionths of a meter) to a millimeter. MEMS became practical once they could be fabricated using modified semiconductor fabrication technologies, normally used to make electronics.

One type of invention impacting our lives is the accelerometer. An accelerometer measures the acceleration and gravity it experiences. Modern accelerometers are often small micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), and are indeed the simplest MEMS devices possible, consisting of little more than a cantilever beam with a proof mass. Under the influence of gravity or acceleration the proof mass deflects from its neutral position. This deflection is measured in an analog or digital manner. This method is simple and reliable; it also does not require additional process steps making it inexpensive.

Micromechanical accelerometers are available in a wide variety of measuring ranges, reaching up to thousands of g's. These amazing little devices are what allow us to take for granted the most commonplace things in our lives, while benefiting from them immensely.

For instance, these latest of scientific devices tell our air bags when to deploy. Do you feel that we benefit from our airbag technology? They are becoming endemic in gaming devices and even iPhones and other smart phones are using them for interfacing purposes. They are being incorporated into laptop computers to sense screen orientation, and to park hard drive heads in case a drop is detected. They are also used for images stabilization in digital cameras and a host of other applications. They are everywhere you look these days.

Another area where MEMS are popping up is in pressure sensors. MEMS technology combines microelectronics with tiny mechanical systems such as valves, gears, and other mechanical components all on one semiconductor chip using nanotechnology to measure pressure. Pressure sensors can be used for directly sensing pressure for such uses as measuring weather data, aircraft performance parameters, automobiles processes, medical devices, and other machine applications .

These latest scientific inventions can be used for sensing altitude for use in aircraft, rockets, satellites, weather balloons etc. And finally, they can be use for flow sensing. MEMS technology is responsible for everything from automatic blood pressure monitoring devices to monitoring tire pressure of your car.

Ive barely touched upon the latest scientific inventions in the MEMS field, just think of the military and battlefield uses for such a technology, research is underway for such things as smart clothing and smart armor.

We are using these technologies in the exploration of the ocean depths by implanting them into whales and fish, and monitoring them with radio technology. All fields of science will continue to benefit from the amazing new inventions being spawned by these amazing and cool new technologies.

The Universal Laws that Create Your Future

One of the books that has been an important part of my life, shaping many of my thinking and planning processes was Bob Proctor's book, "You were Born Rich". The following is inspired by this book and includes direct quotes.

Dr. Wernher Von Braun, whom many consider the "father" of the space program, was once quoted as saying "...I just can't envision this whole universe coming together without something like divine will. The natural laws of the universe are so precise that we have no difficulty building a spaceship to the moon and can time the flight with the precision of a fraction of a second."

Obviously, he possessed a tremendous understanding of the laws of the universe and he understood just how consistent and precise those laws are. One of those laws is the Law of Attraction and it is through this law that we will attract to ourselves the people, the ideas and the things we need in order to achieve our goals.

In order to understand how this law works, we need to realize that everything in this universe is in a constant state of vibration. The human body is one of the most efficient electrical instruments in the entire universe. This is nothing new, since for many years, we have been reading the electrical impulses of the brain (an EEG) as well as of the heart (an ECG). In fact the brain is really a vibratory instrument.

We have all heard people talk about vibrations, but the vast majority of people are not aware of the connection between their vibrations and their results in life. It's very common to see people with "bad vibes" trying very hard to get good results, while at the same time, their negative vibrations are drawing to them all manner of negative people and situations.

The good news is that any time that we find ourselves in a negative mind frame we can CHANGE these vibrations.

Bob Proctor, in his book "Born Rich" uses an acorn as a graphic example of how the law of attraction works. He tells us to visualize this acorn and understand that it, like anything else that appears solid, is really a mass of molecules at a very high speed of vibration. Within the acorn is the nucleus or patterned plan which dictates the vibratory rate and also governs the end-product into which it will grow.

As soon as the acorn is planted, the patterned plan sets up an attractive force and begins to attract everything that vibrates in harmony with it. It attracts all the necessary particles of energy from the ground and they begin to join up and grow. As it expands, little shoots grow out of the bottom, forming roots. Also they begin to grow upward, finally breaking through the earth. These top shoots then begin attracting molecules from the atmosphere, continuing the growth until one day, it becomes an oak tree.

Unlike the human creature, the acorn does not have the ability to change its vibratory rate. It therefore can only grow into what it has been programmed to become - namely, an oak tree. But you and I have the ability to change our vibratory rate and therefore we can choose our own programming. The goal or image that you plant into your wonderful mind by constantly dwelling upon it is the patterned plan or nucleus which determines what you will grow into. It determines what you will attract to you and what you will repel.

As Bob Proctor says, "This is an orderly universe; nothing happens by accident. The images which you plant in your marvelous mind instantly sets up an attractive force which governs your results in life.... It's up to you to get into harmony with what you want out of life rather than what you don't want.

 Clearly, you'll never get into harmony with prosperity if you insist on holding images of lack and limitation. Since you're always magnetized towards something, it follows it can never be anyone else's fault when something comes into your life which you supposedly do not want. Understand, you have ordered it, and it is being delivered to you, right on schedule."

So program your mind with worthy goals and ideals; weed, feed and attend to those seeds and you'll see them grow into YOUR FUTURE.

The Role of the Godparents in Weddings

The origins of the role of godparents in weddings are directly related to the practice of baptism and confirmation. By the second century AD baptisms were accepted as spiritual and social purification of infants and secondary parents or "sponsors" would enact to speak the child's part in the acceptance of God in life. This also was the case in Confirmation as the rites of Christian passage into adulthood and so for weddings as the couple's union binds them together as one. As religion binds families and communities together, Godparenting became a lifetime commitment with a promise to care the religious upbringing of all the children of God. The common thread among all these is that in every rite of a new beginning a hierarchy of spiritual maturity is expected and in case that the parents of the child cannot fulfill this obligation then the people who stood side by side during the parents should be able to carry the duty. The Spanish words for the godparent roles are used for members of the wedding party-padrino meaning "godfather" or "best man" and madrina meaning "godmother" or "matron of honor"-reflecting the custom of baptismal sponsors acting in this role in a couple's wedding.

Much of the rites and rituals for weddings are drawn from the Anglo-Saxon age and have been intertwined with many other beliefs to which Christianity grew with during its formative years. From oral and written history it was drawn out that when there was a union to be held all sorts of charms, chants and prayers were alluded to the couple to grant them happiness, fertility and prosperity. This was the norm for most other rituals and passages.

In order to bestow all these good fortunes to the couple it was deemed necessary for the attendance of the wisest and the most learned people in the land. For these people not only can stand as a role model to achieve but can be consulted on to build an enduring married life. There was actually a period when validity of the marriage required the "witnessing" of consummation in the marriage bed. There was also a superstition that the bride's under garments were also lucky items to be had. Unfortunately, the combination of gaiety and inebriation during this part of the ritual sometimes would get the bride physically hurt, as the witnesses would jostle for those lucky garters. This eventually led to another wedding rite "tossing the garter", which actually was a bridal tactic for self-preservation.

There are many translations and semblances in many Christian sects and churches with the terms "witness", "sponsor" and "godparent", but generally the can be used interchangeably. Basically, if we refer back to the Greeks, the godparent was originally called a patronus which translates to a protector who was adopted by the Christian parents for the sake of the future of the child.

Only one godparent is necessary according to canon law 874, although both a godfather and a godmother are preferred. Nowadays it is very common to see multiple "sets" which is possibly brought about by the intention to creation a larger support group for new union. Not all marriages start with a formidable war chest so a strong web of sacred kinships can be alluded to as a formidable alternative.

In all sense of the word Godparents are guardians of the faith. In some cases they are enacted upon to actually co-sign as "guarantors" in the marriage certificate. The bride and groom should treat this role not merely as gift givers during nuptials; but as co-sharers to the promise of a lifetime of Christian commitment.

For godparents, it gives a person both a new and special status as a child of God and it makes a person a member of the Body of Christ, the Church- so the choice is critically an important one, so if asked please carry on the responsibility with utmost care and consideration as you who can truly represent that Christian community. This is the gift that you bring, for you now hold a sacred place in the hearts of the couple.

It might look a bit like a hamster wheel, but these machines will likely provide a great way to stay engaged while carrying out our usual indoor runs. My only advice for the designer would be to put another screen at the back for a dinosaur to chase you on fear is always a much better motivator.

Cycling Machines

A second piece of equipment thats more than likely to see a splash of virtual reality added in the years to come are cycling machines. Another notoriously boring form of cardio, cycling indoors have long been a gruelling form of exercise that will have you staring at a blank wall while you churn your legs for eternity. While sometimes listening to music or looking at your phone can be enough, new tech is looking to make cycling on the spot a lot more exciting and feel far more genuine.

The Les Mills - The Trip workout hosted by Village Gym is an great example of how technology can be implemented alongside cycling machines to make the experience more similar to, if not a bit more exciting, than your usual peddle outdoors. By transporting into a virtual room with a display that matches your speed and cycling, peddlers can enjoy a far more engaging exercise that will have them entertained throughout their journey.

Rope Trainers

The recent technological obsession with our health and wellbeing has seen the birth of lots of cool new gym equipment, but perhaps one of the most prominent standouts so far has been the VMX Rope Trainer. Taking the form of a rope climbing machine, the Rope Trainer is a completely unique piece of apparatus that allows users to improve their fitness with both cardiovascular and strength conditioning at the same time. The machine can be set up for deadlifting, abseiling or horizontal pulling and has already become a favourite amongst Olympians and the US military. With the huge boom in the healthtech sector seeing wearable smart-watches and fitness trackers become one of the fastest growing consumer products, its perhaps no surprise that the thing we can expect to see change the most within gyms are gym users themselves. Wearable technology is becoming increasingly mainstream - you may have already joined in the trend with your own Fitbit or smartwatch, and if not, you will certainly know someone who already has. This new obsession towards wearable healthtech will likely see devices become more integrated with equipment inside the gym and this concept has already entered its first steps with Apple's latest watchOS update.

While anything stay the same?

While it may seem that the technology industrys entrance to the fitness market will turn our local gyms into houses of the future, theres no need to worry yet as there are many gym basics we dont expect to go out of fashion any time soon. Any sort of free-weight, such as dumbbells and barbells, are unlikely to add technology to them unless they want to get heavier, and push-ups and press-ups will likely remain just that. The role of the private trainer is just as unlikely to disappear, as although were seeing new digital trainers become more and more advanced, there is no app comparable to a spotter approving your lifts.
